The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys

Formed in 1961, brothers Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson and Dennis Wilson along with two cousins comprised what would later become the world's most popular pop group. Primarily composing their songs with vocals as the primary instrument, the Beach Boys had a major influence on pop and rock music as we know it. Their 1966 album "Pet Sounds"got excellent reviews, and despite the lack of expected sales, it is said that "Pet Sounds"inspired the Beatles to write Sgt. Peppers lonely Hearts club Band. The Beach Boys' most poplar surf album without a doubt is "Surfn'U.S.A." which came out in 1963. This Album helped inspire the surfing craze as well as pop music. Tragically, Dennis Wilson drowned while diving from his boat in December of 1983. Also, just recently, Carl Wilson passed away. Through all the difficult experiences the Beach Boys endured in their musical career, they still reign supreme as the most successful American Group in pop history.
